Dyslexia Services
At The Study Hub, we have trained professionals who use a multi-sensory language-based curriculum to meet students’ needs.
Instructors are trained in the Wilson Reading System to empower students to decode, encode, read, create, and understand the written word. The Wilson Reading System utilizes an Orton Gillingham approach to help students master the decoding and encoding of all six syllable types, which are taught in a systematic, explicit, and multisensory manner.
Each Wilson lesson is composed of ten parts that enable students to become fluent decoders and encoders. Each lesson focuses on direct instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, word study, sight words, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, oral expressive language, and comprehension.
Each student is able to progress through the program at his/her own pace. Students are instructed individually to gain mastery prior to moving on to the next concept. Mastery of each step builds a strong foundation for success as students move through the necessary sequence of concepts to become proficient readers and writers.
Our Dyslexia Tutoring Fees are $70/hr.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT…
Meet Dr. Barbara Bayless,
Dr. Barbara Bayless began teaching struggling readers identified with dyslexia almost a decade ago. Her passion as a public-school reading specialist to know more about why some students struggle to “break the code” led her to further research and on to a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma. Her doctoral research focused on the experiences and perspectives of how children with dyslexia experience school. Read Dissertation

She instills a feeling of personal pride in her students so they recognize their accomplishments on a journey that requires courage, understanding, and hard work. She offers them a key to unlock a door to a future they deserve as a literate citizen.
Dr. Bayless has been called the “Reading Whisperer” and a “Miracle Worker”. Dr Bayless will be sharing her expertise with the The Study Hub staff. She will also be helping parents with thorough Dyslexia evaluations.

ADHD
When Reading and Attention Concerns Overlap
Dyslexia and ADHD are different conditions, but they commonly occur together. Research estimates that approximately 25–40% of individuals with either dyslexia or ADHD also meet criteria for the other condition.
